APA102-1515 RGB have same size as SK6805-EC15, Both of them use EMC frame to package, Both of them is smallest smart led with SPI signal controlled in the market. they have been used to be decorate lighting , to make led panel and so on .
From the use point of view, they have same function.But In fact ,they are different from each other . APA102-1515 RGB each channel can reach 18mA ,SK6805-EC15 each channel only 5ma , so APA102-1515 is brighter than SK6805-EC15. Second , APA102-1515 not only have data wire input and output , but also have clock input and output ,which make its signal is more stable when transfer , so normally APA102-1515 don’t need addition capacitor at the PCB .
What is advantage of SK6805-EC15? , it is much cheaper than APA102-1515, which make it more hot sale , and Low current make the working temperature is lower , so when make high density panel or led lighting , it will not be so hot as APA102-1515.
