In order to lead smart led market ,We have invested more and more energy to develop new smart led.  Until now,  we have many types of smart led . and some customer ask us to develop side view led ,  then SK6812 SIDE,SK6812 SIDE-A, SK6805 SIDE-G come out . What is different from those led . 

what is the same function from them ? 

      They have the same control protocol , can be compatible with each other ,which means you can use same controller to control them without problem . and what is the different between them ,why we need to design 3 types of them . let's talk about the reason.

       SK6812 SIDE is the first type side led in our company and  in the smart led market  . It is packaged with 4020 SMD ,each channel current is about 12ma , as you know 4020 smd  very small , Pin and each pin distance from each other is small too , so it is difficult for some customer to weld them correctly by low precision mounter, it need to be welded by high precision mounter, and some customer only have normal mounter, so they will have difficulties when they use mounter to weld them .  and in this smd 4020 version ,we also have SK6805 side led ,each channel current is 5ma .the following is the Mechanical Dimensions.

So in order to  solve this problem ,make our customer much more easy to weld our led chip , our another type side smd led SK6812 SIDE-A led come out , it is packaged with 4020 led ,each channel current is 12ma too, but we make  the 1pin and 4 pin bigger , Make the distance from each other is bigger , then even they use normal precision mounter ,they can be welded correctly . In this version ,we also have SK6805 SIDE-A led , each channel current is 5ma .The following is the Mechanical Dimensions.

But many customer need smaller side led, so 4020 smd led can not reach their request ,then we design SK6805 SIDE-G,It is packaged with 3512 smd led , which is much smaller than SK6812 SIDE and SK6812-A Side led . As they are so small , when we use 12ma channel LED,It will be very hot ,unless you use good heatsink. So normally in this 3512 SMD LED ,we only have 5ma per channel version . it is not hot , it is just little less brighter than SK6812 side and SK6812-A SIDE LED .and as we make the pin bigger ,and bigger distance in this small smd too , so it is easy to weld them too , the following is the Mechanical Dimensions.
